After sitting some eighteen days in Quebec, the result of their deliberations was the famous "Seventy-two Resolutions," which in accordance with the final resolution, were authenticated by the signatures of the Delegates, and were ordered to be submitted by each delegation to its own government.

The main work of the [Quebec] conference was embodied in the Seventy-Two Resolutions that were drawn up as an outline for the proposed federal union. These later became the basis of negotiations at the London Conference in 1866-67 and eventually formed the core of the BNA Act.
